Hi all community members! Although I have a well-paid full-time job as a marketing manager, recently I’ve been thinking about any additional option of earning money, using my current skills (internet marketing, digital, copywriting, etc. Any ideas of a small business with a fast income or any kind of additional earnings? I think I might spend around 2-3 hours per day on it or even more if it looks perspective.
October 9, 2017 at 11:04 am #40297Kerry100ParticipantHow long have you been working in marketing? A friend of mine is working as a digital specialist in FMCG company and in his free time he gives consultancies to small businesses and startups on marketing strategy, choosing the right audience, writing content, etc. I think you might try to do the same. Anyway, I would start from a blog (or just Facebook or Twitter publications) on marketing topics, sharing interesting links or your thoughts…. I would read it, by the way :)

You will spend more time launching everything but later you will spend hour or two per day just to check if everything goes good. Or you can hire a manager.

October 9, 2017 at 4:08 pm #40303JohnParticipantHey, Kerry100.
Thanks for a detailed answer!
I like an idea of consulting small businesses and some time ago I tried to do it and liked it really =) I’ll note it and think about it later for sure. Thanks!!!

In this case, you can use online platforms, which are specially created for lending money or just to do it offline. There are many examples, just goodle them.
October 9, 2017 at 5:31 pm #40308JohnParticipantTeaching online is a good idea for sure, Yorkie11.
Although I am not a very good speaker, I guess =)
October 9, 2017 at 6:41 pm #40310Yorkie11Participanthahahaha,
are you afraid of camera as most of people do? You can try to take an online course on speaking and then when having good speaking skills, create your online course on marketing.
or just watch TED videos in Youtube. It helps, I’ve checked!

exactly. And also afraid of my voice on a record! Haha
October 10, 2017 at 8:12 am #40320Yorkie11Participantalso it is a good idea to take side projects on marketing or digital. It will help you to become more professional in your sphere (at least you’ll make a solid portfolio) or just more money to satisfy your financial needs.
why not?
October 10, 2017 at 8:55 am #40321JohnParticipantthanks Terence
Amazon is a great opportunity for starting a selling business, for sure. Thanks User 3 for this reminder. I know numerous successful stories of people launching their e-commerce business right from Amazon and having a solid income in several months.
I am also thinking that my marketing skills will be helpful there as there will be a need to write content, for example, or deliver good visuality for those interested in my products. The only small thing left is to choose the trendy products. Thanks! I’ll definitely think about it in details.
October 10, 2017 at 5:13 pm #40323JohnParticipantSide projects is a good idea as well. Thanks for this input! I think it is very close to what Kerry100 proposed about marketing consultancy. I have several friends working with side projects by using such platforms as Upwork and looking for the clients there.
Good portfolio is an advantage in this particular case.
October 11, 2017 at 7:29 am #40329Kerry100ParticipantYep, online platforms like Upwork and other are extremely popular nowadays. A kind of sharing economy in a talent sphere. You share your skills and time and help others to satisfy their needs in what you do the best (marketing in your case). Good luck!
October 11, 2017 at 2:40 pm #40344JohnParticipantThank you very much, guys for great ideas!
I’ll definitely go through them later and decide what works best for me this time. Have a good day you all.
