Associated Bank is a regional bank that’s held by Associated Banc-Corp which is a regional bank holding company. This is the largest bank with its headquarters in Wisconsin (based on the size of its assets).

History of Associated Bank

Associated Bank hasn’t been around for that long. It was formed in May 1^st of 1970. However, the three banks that merged to form Associated Bank were quite old. They were:

• The First National Bank of Neenah – Founded in 1861
• Kellogg Citizens National Bank – This Green Bay Bank was founded in 1874
• Manitowoc Savings Bank – Established in 1884

These three community banks formed an alliance and this alliance would later gel into what is now known as Associated Bank.

The bank has changed its name several times in recent times. In 1993, it took on the name Associated Bank Green Bay, NA. This would later be changed to Associated Bank, NA in 2001.

The bank was among those affected by the 2007/2008 financial crisis. It requested $525 million from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) fund. It would repay this loan back in 2011.

In 2013, the bank was named by Forbes as one of the 100 Most Trustworthy Companies. One year later, it was being traded in the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

The headquarters of associated bank are located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The building is that at 333 Main Street located in downtown Green bay.

The building was constructed in 1985 and is commonly known as the Regency Building. The bank’s corporate offices occupy all six floors in the building. It has enough space for around 500 employees.

Some of the building’s closest neighbors are the Hyatt Regency Hotel and KI Convention Center.
