Prosperity Bank is the main subsidiary of Prosperity Bancshares, Inc. which is a bank holding company that is based in Houston, TX. The bank mainly operates in Texas and central Oklahoma.

History of Prosperity Bank
Prosperity Bank is a relatively new entity having only been formed in 1983. It was created to serve as a vehicle to buy a former Allied Bank branch located in Edna, Texas.
The bank in Edna was created in 1949 when it was started as the First National Bank of Edna.
Over the years, Prosperity Bancshares has acquired a number of financial institutions including:
- Texas Guaranty Bank
- Southwest Bank Holding Company
- Main Bancorp, Inc
- Franklin Bank (from FDIC)
- American State Bank (2012)

Online Banking App Disaster
I own a small business and bank in Plainview, Texas. The personnel at that location are, for the most part, very nice and cordial. As with almost any business, since “Covid”, there has been a tremendous amount of turn over. My big complaint is with the online banking program. It is a DISASTER! The previous program had absolutely 0 glitches or mistakes, but since the new program was launched about 3 or 4 years ago, I spend most of my time documenting mistakes and sending them to the “Vendor Liason”. I have sent approximately 200 to 300 emails with screenshot details of errors that have occurred. On a day that has glitches I spend between 2 and 5 hours finding and fixing the errors. I have had a few WEB meetings with the “Vendor” and Bank Representatives, and they have yet to fix any of the problems I have addressed. Most of the problems are in the “Spending” portion of the app. Transactions are mislabeled and sometimes auto categorized incorrectly. I cannot edit the name of a category. In the old program, I could pick categories and it would add the figures for a specified period of time. That feature was a huge plus. The old program would let me categorize transactions in the mobile app. and now that feature is not available. There are many more problems with the Online Banking App, but you can get the gist. My business has been with this bank and its previous “names” since 1993 and until this last online banking program was launched things ran very smooth.

Worst experience I have had with customer service representatives @ 1-800-531-1401. They are very unprofessional and need to address customer concerns in a professional manner.
