Abacus and Sage have been approved to provide credit counseling course and debtor education in all states. Abacus Credit Counseling offers two courses which include the pre-bankruptcy credit counseling and the post-filing debtor education. Abacus charges $25 for the first course and $35 for the second course. The first course takes approximately sixty to ninety minutes to complete while the second course takes a minimum of two hours to complete online. Abacus has been approved to issue certificates of each course completed in compliance with the bankruptcy code. You don’t have to complete each course in one sitting. You can close your browser any time and then resume back during your free time. Your progress is automatically saved each time you close your browser and hence there is no need to repeat from the start.
In addition, Abacus Credit Counseling also offers courses by phone to those who have no computers. Abacus charges $35 for the pre-filing course by phone and $45 for the post-filing course. To register over the phone, you need to call (800) 516-3834 for the first course and (800) 516-2759 for the second course. The pre-bankruptcy credit counseling takes approximately one to two hours by phone while the post-filing debtor education takes approximately two hours by phone. You can hang up to take a break and then resume any time you are free.

Step 3 – Enter your first name, last name, the last four digits of your social security number, your state and then click the “Log In” button.
You shouldn’t have troubles accessing your Abacus Credit Counseling online account if you entered your credentials correctly and are associated with your account. Note that no username or password is required to access your account. You just require your name, state and the last four digits of your social security number to log in to your online account.
HOW TO PAY YOUR BILL
Step 1 – Click “Start now” to learn the first course as well as making a payment online.
Note that you must log in to your Abacus Credit Counseling online account in order to make payments online. You can also pay the fee for the second course by clicking the “Second Course” button. You can make payments over the phone, pay with credit/debit card or pay with money orders.
