The story of Alpine Bank started in 1973 when it was founded by Bob Young in Carbondale. At the opening ceremony, a ribbon made from silver and a large donation was made to the Carbondale City park services.

The key events that have occurred since then include:

  • 1990: The Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry named the bank the Business of the Year in the Northwest Region
  • 1992: The bank’s assets crossed the $200 million mark. To mark the occasion, $20,000 was donated to non-profits in the community
  • 1993 – 1997: The bank was honored with a number of awards including the Blue Chip Enterprise Award, one of Colorado’s Best Companies for Working Families, 2nd in the list of Top Private Companies in Colorado etc. The CEO, Bob Young, was also feted for his philanthropy
  • 2002: Alpine Bank’s assets reached the $1 billion mark. It also continued with its history of winning awards including being awarded the Spirit of Enterprise Award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
  • 2006: The value of the bank’s assets reached $2 billion. The bank also achieved an ISO 14001 certification and received the Corporate Citizenship Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
  • 2013: Alpine Bank marked 40 years since it was established and started to lay plans to extend its banking services to the Front Range.
  • 2015: BauerFinancial, Inc elevated the bank’s rating to 5-star, the highest rating for financial institutions. The bank also renewed its ISO 14001 certification.
  • 2016: The bank was inducted into the International Green Industry Hall of Fame. It’s 5-star rating by BauerFinancial also remained the same.
