First Financial Bank is the banking subsidiary of First Financial Bancorp. First Financial Bancorp is based in Cincinnati, Ohio where it operates as a regional bank. Its operations are mainly in the northern Cincinnati, Tri-County region.

By the end of 2017, First Financial Bancorp had assets that were valued at $8.9 billion. Loans issued by the bank were valued at $6 billion while deposits had reached $6.9 billion.

History of First Financial Bank

1863 – First financial bank launches under the name First National Bank of Hamilton following the passing of the National Banking Act by congress. The bank’s first branch is located in 239 High Street.

1887 – The bank moves to the building located at Third and High Streets. The building will remain the bank’s home until 1928 when it is razed down by a fire. The bank moves its operations to N. Third Street to an office building.

1923 – The bank changes its name to The First National Bank and Trust Company of Hamilton. This follows the establishment of the bank’s Trust Division.

1930 – The bank launched a new building in Hamilton at the corner of 3rd and High Streets. The building is said to have cost not more than $550,000.

1963 – The bank celebrates 100 years since its founding

1980 – The First National Bank and Trust Company of Hamilton and First National Bank of Middletown merge leading to the formation of First National Bank of Southwestern Ohio



1983 – First Financial Bancorp is formed. It starts as a company valued at $2.6 billion operating 15 affiliates with 106 centers.

2000 – First Southwestern merges with Home Federal Bank

First National merges with Hebron Deposit Bank. The merger results in the creation of First Financial Bank

2006 – All subsidiaries of the bank start operating under the name First Financial Bank



2008 – The bank enters Indianapolis

2013 – The bank celebrates 150 years. It’s the 6th oldest national bank in the country

The Headquarters

First Financial Bank’s current headquarters are located at 255 E. Fifth Street in Cincinnati, OH. The building is now known as First Financial Center and it officially became the bank’s corporate headquarters in 2011.

The building was completed in 1991 and is a 32-story tower. The building measures 410 feet in height and this makes it the 7th tallest building in the city.

The tower was previously known as Chemed Center. Some of the building’s features include 600 parking spaces and 15 elevators. The building features a light gray facade.

    Sub-Standard Customer Relations

    This is a rude and inconsistent entity. Virtually non-existent phone service, and limited handicap access. Would not recommend.
