    Referral Bonus Program

As a loyal customer since 2013, I went to the branch at 3410 N 27th St in Lincoln, NE with my boyfriend to start a checking account for him. I pre-emptively went to ensure I would be eligible for the $50 referral bonus. The banker (Robert Hartsgrove) who assisted to open my boyfriend’s checking account only told us that in order for me to qualify for the bonus, Colt (my boyfriend) had to make a minimum deposit of $250 within 60 days as well as have x amount of transactions within 60 days after he received his debit card in the mail. After 90 days, I now learn I won’t receive the bonus because Robert did not disclose that Colt also had to sign up for direct deposit in addition to receiving online statements. Robert advised there was nothing he could do at this point and that I won’t be receiving the bonus. I escalated this to the 800 customer service number; they could not do anything about this either. As a person living paycheck to paycheck, I was REALLY counting on this referral bonus. As a result, myself and my boyfriend will be doing business elsewhere with an institution more consumer-focused.
