Right now I[m attempting to call the IT department of Valley Bank. I have been on hold, listening to music for 30 minutes. I am a business client.

This is so typical of Valley. They need to get their act together.

Every time we deposit they put a hold on our checks for 10 days. We cannot use this money, even if it was an emergency.

Valley provides the worst, most unprofessional service. Take your banking business elsewhere!

Truly terrible customer service. The customer service line has – at any given time – a wait time of between 30 – 60 minutes and then updates with extended waiting. This is a company with antiquated systems and the inability to provide up-to-date service. The branch staff are no better. Two days ago I pulled most of my money out and deposited in a different bank, one that offers services conducive with this century and good customer service. I was upfront with the Valley rep who was preparing the bank check and explained that I was leaving due to poor service. Unbelievably- and further illustrating my point – the Valley employee apparently withdrew my funds TWICE, leaving me overdrawn and without any access to the rest of my money. Worse, we didn’t discover it until my husband went to use his card the next day. I called the bank immediately and they were unable to tell me what happened or where my money is. It is now nearly 48 hours later, and the bank manager just told me “there was an error” and she needs to “research it more thoroughly”. Their actions and responses are unacceptable and conduct is extremely unprofessional.
