In Kiva, you can lend as little as twenty-five US dollars that can help a borrower either to start or grow a business or pay school fees. Any money you lend to Kiva goes to funding loans. Kiva covers its operational costs mainly via donations, grants and sponsors. If you need a loan from Kiva, you will need to first apply for it, Kiva will process your loan application and then list it for lenders to support it. Once fundraising is complete, you will receive your loan. You will then be given a certain period of time to repay the loan.
HOW TO LOGIN
Logging into your Kiva account is easy and fast. You will need an email and password that you used when registering for a Kiva account. You can also sign into Kiva with your Facebook account. If you are already a Kiva member, you can log in by following the steps below:
Step 1 – Click here to open the website in a new tab and then click on the “sign in” button which is located on the upper-right side of the screen.
Step 2 – Enter your email address and password that you used when signing up for a Kiva account and then click on the “sign in” button.
You should have signed into your Kiva online account if your email and password are correctly entered. You can check the “keep me signed in” box if you’re using your own personal computer. This will enable your computer to recall your login information the next time you visit the site. Uncheck the box if using a public or shared computer.
HOW TO RESET YOUR PASSWORD
There are times when you can’t remember the password for your Kiva account. If this happens and still want to log into your Kiva account, the steps below will guide you on how to set a new password:
Step 1 – If you cannot recall the current password for your Kiva account, click the “forgot your password?” link located below the sign in button.
Step 2 – Enter your Kiva email address and then click on the “email instructions” button.

We have been supporters of KIVA for years. Recently we got an email notice that the amount repaid to us would be automatically assigned to a borrower if we did not address this ourselves. I have been trying to access our account without success. I do not remember how it was originally listed, but the most recent account password was 15shetland, or maybe 15Shetland. Anyway, I do not know what you have done with your website, but I would appreciate some information as to how to sign in and how to see what is going on with our account. Joan Kroll
