The bank has grown over the years as a result of mergers and acquisitions. Some of the banks that they’ve merged with or acquired over the years include:

  • First Citizens Bank of South Carolina
  • IronStone Bank
  • United Western Bank, Denver, Colorado
  • Colorado Capital Bank, Castle Rock, Colorado
  • 1st Financial Corp
  • North Milwaukee State Bank of Milwaukee

    Worst Bank

Dishonest Bank. This bank puts holds on checks that are from one First Citizens account to another First Citizens Account . They also deduct pending debits from the account before crediting deposits made earlier than the pending payment, therefore sometimes resulting in making the account overdrawn. This bank then starts charging overdraft fees based on the pending debit throwing the account into being in the negative. Pending : Awaiting decision or settlement, until something happens or takes place. There are class action lawsuits against banks that use tactics like First Citizens to obtain fees. I am checking to see if this bank is listed as on of the deceptive banks listed in that case.

Poor Customer Service and Poor Loan Payment Tracking!!!

I will NEVER take out a loan with First Citizens Bank again. They lost payments, and when my wife called in about it, they stated they did not have the payment, and the next day the payment cleared. The bank also sent two letters two days apart, stating the account was delinquent, and the other was a right to cure letter. This financial institution has no idea how to provide quality customer service, and I will NEVER put any money in this bank or take out a loan again. I will go to the bank I have used for the past 40 years. No more car dealership banks! I despise liars and businesses that employ people who do not tell the truth.

    Fraud Claim Denied

My father, Mr. Marcell Oglesby has been a loyal customer since 1965 in Central SC. My dad’s company, Oglesby Brother’s Construction was also a major customer. My father is now elderly at 83 and has lost his sight.
It’s unfortunate but my only sibling, his daughter April Oglesby has taken advantage of his physical condition and stole his First Citizens debit card and PIN number and went on a drug infested spree and compromised his checking account and the following other creditors: Lowe’s Home Improvement, Capital One Walmart, Capital One Quick Silver, Dillard’s American Express, Tractor Supply, JCPenney Master Card
She does not reside at his address but she did come here with the intent of helping care for him. And while doing so and unbeknownst to he or I, she stole these cards, used them and put them back in his wallet.
It has been the worst possible situation but I filed a police report with the Pickens County Sheriff’s department (Detective Brian Byers).
In addition I’ve had to submit fraud claims due to her stealing his credit and bank cards, and used them without his authorization or knowledge.
All creditors listed above are approving the fraud claims, except First Citizens. Their denial states that since she had the PIN number that it is a domestic issue. This is an unacceptable response since she acquired this card and the others without his knowledge or authorization. And that my father is blind and can’t see what is or is not. Fact- a long time customer even through the acquisitions, he has been loyal. Make this terrible wrong right by my father Mr. Marcell Oglesby.
